Become a Supporter or Member of DMD Pathfinders

We offer two levels of membership. Anyone can become an official Supporter, and as a Supporter we’ll keep you up-to-date with everything that’s going on and promise to consult you about any big changes we make.  In addition, adults with DMD and similar conditions can, if they wish, apply to become formal Voting Members who can vote on things like who becomes a trustee and certain charity governance matters.

Join our Private Facebook Group (exclusively for adults with DMD and similar types of Dystrophy)

As well as our official Facebook page, we also have a private discussion group exclusively from people living with Duchenne, to share experience, hints & tips and just to meet friends.  It’s a great source of advice, humour and quirkiness and all are welcome.  Send us a message using the Contact Us page and we will add you!

Fundraise for us

Volunteer with us to run your own fundraising event to support our work.  We have some great ideas for challenges to suit every level of ability, and can give you guidance and support materials (publicity materials, stickers, collection tins, etc.) to help make your event a success.

You will be able to set up your own fundraising challenge site on BT My Donate here, which you can link to the DMD Pathfinders official site.  We will help you to promote your event on social media and in the local press.

Volunteer with us

DMD Pathfinders are looking for volunteers to help support the organisation. We have the following roles available:

Social Media Ambassadors

DMD Pathfinders are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to contribute to our social media. The role involves using web blogs plus a variety of social media and similar communities to create regular content, respond to conversations, build a sense of community between members and develop strong network relationships between DMD Pathfinders, public, private and charitable organisations. This role can be done from home.

DMD Pathfinders Representatives

Volunteer to help us with individual campaigns, such as our work on developing consistent standards of care for adults. This may involve blogging or tweeting about a campaign, or attending important meetings to represent adults with Duchenne.

Volunteer Researchers/Authors

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us compile Frequently Asked Questions Guides on a range of key daily living topics. You will be required to research topics using internet resources, clinical advice and discussions with our members and compile these into information resources.
